With beautiful illustrations by Neville Weston, Alain Sérieyx researched Timothée Vasse's life before he boarded the Baudin expedition in 1800, and imagined how Thimothée was nursed back to life by the Wardandi people after being lost at sea.
The postface is by Wardandi Man Borung Walger (Big Eagle).
The Vasse river in the South West of Western Australia, is named after Timothée.
